Fleet 42 Invades Mission Bay
May 25-28, 2012
This year, Fleet 42 will be sailing in Mission Bay on May 25th through May 28th. We are lucky to have the Bahia Resort Hotel as our rathering place. Here is their web site to look at the property, Bahia Hotel and Resort. We will be sailing in Mission Bay for three days, and we are able to keep our boats right on their private beach. No trailoring the boats to a ramp or having to put them on the trailor each night. We are looking to have 10 rooms occupied so we can get the group rate.
If you are interested in joining us, please sent Scott Agan an e-mail at scottagan@fleet42.org and let him know. We will be booking the rooms in the middle of January, 2012.
Combined sailing events with Hobie Fleets 66 and 514
Again this year we will be sailing with the Hobie Fleets as they do their points regattas. The events are Cinco de Mayo, May 5-6, 2012 at Playa Bonita R.V. Park and Pinata Regatta/Rocky Point Challenge, October 13-14, 2012 at Playa Bonita R.V. Park. We all had a great event this past fall sailing with the Hobie fleets and I am really looking forward to sailing with them again this year. It is great to see a LOT of boats on the water and on the beach. Lots of socializing and lots of new friends!
2012 Fall Rocky Point Challenge
October 13-14, 2012
We are going to be sailing with the Tucson catamaran sailing fleet as they do their points regatta this year. We are sharing the committee boat and chase ponga for the weekend. We will still be doing our own scoring and having our own awards. Also, we will have our own starts and finishes like usual. We will have our long distance race on Saturday and shorter triangle races on Sunday. Please be prepared to be on the water for approximately 4 hours! All the fleets are joining together for a Salsa Contest on Saturday night before the potluck dinner. There are 4 categories, traditional (red), gourmet (like a mango salsa), guacamole, and other (like ceveche). Please bring your best salsa and join the fun! All the fleets are joining together for a potluck dinner on Saturday night as well. Fleet 42 will be providing the cups, plates, bowls, napkins, and eating utensils for dinner. Please bring a dish to pass and a serving spoon or spatula. After the potluck dinner, there is a great raffle that the Tucson catamaran sailing fleet puts on every year. Please bring some cash to purchase raffle tickets and join in on the fun. They have all kinds of sailing items, attire, and gear. I have participated in this many times and have always had a great time. There is also going to be a Margarita bar and a keg of Tecate for the evening
I am looking forward to the Rocky Point Challenge weekend with the Hobie Fleets. A lot of boats on the beach and on the water and a chance to meet other sailors and make more friendships doing what we all like to do...sail!

Family Fun Weekends
We will be watching the lake levels closely as the weather warms up for our Family Fun Weekends this year. I will let everyone know in advance of where we will be sailing. Just keep an eye on the Fleet 42 Schedule page, e-mails, and the Yahoo group for updates.
